overs for a change of innings unless the change of innings negates the need for
the drinks break eg occurs within 20 minutes of the designated drink break. (iii)
If at the
designated finishing time the required minimum overs have not been completed
play shall continue until the overs have been bowled. (iv)
This rule
does not apply to limited over games or semi finals and finals. (v)
For Semi
Finals and Finals only, the M.C.C. rule providing for 20 overs to be bowled in
the last hour shall be used as amended herein: The umpire shall indicate when one hour of
playing time of the match remains according to the scheduled hours of play. The

bowled provided an outright result is not obtained earlier or there is no
interval or interruption to play. If at the commencement of the last hour of
play an interruption or interval of play is in progress or if during the last
hour there is an interruption or interval to play, the number of overs will be

the team finishing in the higher position on the competition table as per the
NSWDCA quotient will contest the final. In the event that the final is drawn or tied the team
finishing higher on the competition table as per the NSWDCA quotient system
will be deemed the premiership winners. In the event of teams finishing the competition on the
same points the NSWDCA quotient system shall apply: Quotient = Total
runs scored by team Total
runs scored against team Total wickets lost by team divided
by Total wickets taken by team The Honorary Secretary shall draw all competitions 6.
WET WEATHER If the Executive Committee declares the first Saturday
of any round except semi finals and finals unfit for play then all play is
cancelled for the day. 7.

by the Executive Committee with consideration given to the highest grades

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF PLAY (a) The team batting first must bat for at least one hour before declaring their innings closed. (b) The team batting first (in a scheduled two day competition round) must declare their innings closed after having batted for eighty (80) overs in the 1st innings except as provided in all day fixtures and limited over matches. This rule does not apply to semi finals and finals. (c)
The captain
of the fielding team may elect to take a new or old ball of suitable quality at
the commencement of the innings and/or after sixty (60) overs have been bowled
or two hundred (200) runs scored. (d)
All
boundaries shall count as four runs except when a ball is hit and lands beyond
and clear of the agreed boundary line it shall be counted as six runs. (e)
The team,
which bats first and leads by seventy-five (75) runs or more shall have the
option of requiring the other team to follow on their innings. (f)
A team may
declare their innings closed on the second day of the match and play shall
commence as per Rule 2 providing that Rule 8(a) has been complied with.
Competing teams must be at the ground in sufficient time to make the necessary
arrangements at the appointed time. (g)
Should a
wicket fall within two minutes at the appointed time set down for the drawing
of stumps and an incoming batsman not be in attendance the team shall be
declared all out on appeal. (h)
Substitute
fieldsmen shall be allowed as per the Laws of Cricket provided that the
substitute is qualified by age and is a registered member of the Association
with the Club for which he is substitute fielding. 9.
35 OVERS MATCHES In the event that the ground (as drawn) is unfit for
play on the first Saturday of any scheduled two week competition match the
second Saturday shall be played as a thirty five (35) over limited fixture.
Playing hours 1.00pm to 6.00pm under the following conditions: If the condition of the ground, weather or bad light
causes a loss of time during the innings of the team batting first, then the
over quota shall be adjusted by deducting one over for every six (6) minutes
time lost, there being no set time for the completion of the innings. Provided,
however, that nothing in this paragraph shall prevent the team batting first
from receiving a minimum of eighteen (18) overs if not dismissed beforehand. If conditions prevent the team batting second from
receiving their full quota of overs the match shall be decided by a comparison
of the run rate of BOTH teams. These run rates are calculated by dividing the
total number of runs scored by the number of overs bowled. For the purposes of
the run rate calculations, only each legitimate ball bowled shall count as
one-sixth of an over. Where a team has been dismissed or has declared its
innings closed before receiving its full quota of overs, its run rate shall be
calculated by dividing the total number of runs scored by the QUOTA number of
overs that it should have received. All this provided that a MINIMUM of
eighteen (18) overs have been completed by each team and provided that play
shall cease at the completion of the over in progress at the time specified in
Rule 2 for end of play, unless five (5) or less overs remain to be bowled. In
this case play shall continue until the team batting second receives their
quota of overs or a result is achieved. If more than five (5) overs remain to
be bowled at the designated finishing time the game shall cease at the
completion of the over in progress at the time. If each team has completed less
than eighteen (18) overs the match shall be deemed to have been drawn unless a
result has been achieved. The game is deemed to be over once a first innings
result is achieved. NOTE: Rule 3 (Drink Break) and Rule 4 (Overs in Last
Hour) shall not apply to matches played under this rule. 10. 50 OVER MATCHES/ALL DAY FIXTURES Except as herein provided all matches shall commence
at 10.00am and finish at 6.00pm. An interval for lunch shall be taken between 1.40pm
and 2.20pm. An interval for drinks shall be taken between 11.45am and
11.55am. Another will be taken between 4.05pm & 4.15pm. When owing to inclement weather and for any other
reason it is impossible to commence play before noon the luncheon break shall
be disregarded and if no play is possible before 2.00pm the drinks breaks shall be
disregarded. If an innings is completed or declared closed within
fifteen (15) minutes before an interval such interval shall be taken
immediately. By mutual agreement drinks breaks at not less than hourly
intervals may be taken and shall not exceed five minutes in duration. The first innings of any team shall be fifty (50)
overs, if not dismissed beforehand, and the team scoring the greater number of
runs shall be declared the winner, subject to the following: (a) If there has been no loss of time due to the
conditions of the ground, light or weather the team batting first shall declare
their innings closed at the completion of the over in progress at 1.40pm if the
fifty (50) overs have not already been completed, the team batting second shall
then be limited to facing the same number of overs. (b) If the condition of the ground, weather or light
causes a loss of time during the first innings of the team batting first, then
the over quota shall be adjusted by deducting one over for every six minutes or
part thereof lost and there being no set time for the completion of the
innings. Provided, however, that nothing in this paragraph shall prevent the
team batting first from receiving a minimum of thirty (30) overs if not
dismissed beforehand. (c) If conditions prevent the team batting second from
receiving their full quota of overs the match shall be decided by a comparison
of the run rate of BOTH teams. These run rates are then calculated by dividing
the total number of runs by the number of overs bowled. For the purposes of the
run rate calculations, only each legitimate ball bowled shall count as
one-sixth of an over. Where a team has been dismissed or has declared its
innings closed before receiving its full quota of overs, its run rate shall be
calculated by dividing the total number of runs scored by the QUOTA number of
overs that it should have received. All this provided that a MINIMUM of thirty
(30), overs have been completed by each team and provided that play shall cease
at the completion of the over in progress at the time specified in Rule 2 for
end of play, unless five (5) or less overs remain to be bowled. In this case
play shall continue until the team batting second receives their quota of overs
or a result is achieved. If more than five (5) overs remain to be bowled at the
designated finishing time the game shall cease at the completion of the over in
progress at that time. (d) If each team has completed less than thirty (30)
overs the match shall be regarded as drawn, unless a result has been achieved. (e) If the first innings of each team has been
completed and/or a result has been deemed, stumps may be drawn if both captains
agree an outright cannot be obtained. However, if either captain is of the
opinion that an outright result can be obtained then the match shall continue
until the completion of the over in progress at 6.00pm. (f) It is not necessary for each team to bat for its
full quota of overs if a declaration is desired, although the team batting
second shall still be entitled to bat for its full quota of overs, regardless
of the number of overs bated by the team batting first. (g) There shall be no limit on the number of overs
bowled by any bowler aged nineteen (19) or over as at the 1st
September. Rule 11 of the Senior Mode of Competition shall apply to all bowlers
aged under nineteen (19) as at 1st September. (h) It is essential that scorers keep an over by over
tally from the thirty (30) over mark and onwards. 11. BOWLING RESTRICTIONS (a)
(i) Players
aged under 16 as at 1st September A bowler shall be restricted to a maximum
of twelve (12) overs per day. The bowler must reach the maximum in not less
than three (3) spells. A bowling spell or period can only contain a maximum of
four (4) overs. A bowler can not bowl again after completing a spell until that
bowler has been rested the same number of overs bowled as counted from that
end. The bowling restriction shall include overs bowled on the same day in the
Junior Competition. (ii) Players
aged 16 to under 19 as at 1st September All medium pace or fast bowlers (broadly
defined by one or both umpires/captains as those to whom the wicket keeper

overs per day. The bowler must reach the maximum in not less than three (3)
spells. A bowling spell or period can only contain a maximum of six (6) overs.

as at the 1st September, before the commencement of play. It will be
the responsibility of both captains that the team sheets are noted with ages of
players under nineteen (19) and bowling restrictions are enforced. (c)
Six (6)
competition points will be deducted for deliberate breaches of this rule. (d)
A bowler may
change ends without this action being considered to be an end to his current
spell of bowling, so long as the change is not delayed by more than one over
required to effect the changes of ends. 12. UMPIRING
DUTY A team
receiving a BYE in a round shall provide two (2) (affiliated club members) to
umpire games in another division (and not their own club). With supplying these
umpires the team will receive 6 points for that round. Teams not supplying two
(2) umpires receive no points. If a player has an umpire’s ticket he will be
paid. The M.C.C laws of cricket and N.S.W.D.C.A amendments
shall apply to all other conditions. |
